Turkey History !

The founder of the Republic of Turkey was Mustafa Kemal, this event took place in 1923 after a 600year rain of the Ottoman Empire, and enduring a 3 year civil war. At the pinnacle of the Ottoman Empire it had control over long areas of Africa, South East Europe and West Asia. The Empires disintegration occurred as other countries endeavored to gain their own independence. Turkey was an ally to Germany in World War 1, and in defeat lost more of its past regions. Turkey also endured a nasty war with the Greeks coming in from Anatolia. After 1923 the Old Empire was ended and the Republic began.
